Cobham, Surrey, January 2018 – Crestron, the global leader in integrated classroom technology will be demonstrating groundbreaking collaborative solutions for universities and colleges at Bett 2018, the annual trade show for the education technology sector.

Stand D394 will be the place to experience world-class technology as Crestron showcases the ways in which its solutions can facilitate learning and create advanced educational experiences.

Crestron will highlight solutions for distance learning, classroom breakout space, active learning interaction and lecture presentations while Crestron experts will be on hand to provide an in depth look at how Crestron solutions deliver unparalleled reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency for the educational sector.

Among the cutting-edge Crestron solutions on display will be the award winning ultra-high definition presentation switcher and control solution (DMPS3-4K-150C) that is perfect for classrooms and huddle spaces. Crestron AV Framework™ software auto-configures the system enabling the switcher to control up to four displays and connect via HDMI to a Crestron AirMedia® device for cost effective wireless BYOD presentation capability. AirMedia® allows multiple students to connect wirelessly and present their findings to the whole class using whatever source or format they choose - whether it is a PowerPoint®, Excel®, Word®, PDF or showing images from their personal smart device - without any wires to connect to, and all in H264 quality streaming.

Latest developments

New to Bett 2018 is Crestron’s DigitalMedia NVX Series, the latest revolutionary addition to Crestron’s extensive family of DigitalMedia products. The DigitalMedia NVX Series makes it possible to transmit stunning 4K60 4:4:4 HDR video over standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet, with no latency. DigitalMedia NVX Series provides an infinitely scalable network AV solution, from a simple point-to-point setup, to thousands of endpoints, and requires only DM® NVX Series

Encoders/Decoders. This will allow teachers and students to stream 4K content on the ultra-reliable Crestron DigitalMedia platform to presentations shown in the classroom.

Taking centre stage in Crestron’s specially designed huddle space will be Crestron Mercury™, the ultimate all-in-one meeting and collaboration solution that’s easy to provision and manage. Its unified communications (UC) and audio/video (AV) all-in-one solution supports any web collaboration. Use any soft phone, video conferencing or UC service, such as Skype® for Business to collaborate right from your laptop by simply connecting to Mercury. Crestron Mercury can also be configured to run native Skype for Business without a laptop, transforming break out areas into real interactive huddle rooms.

User experience

In addition, Crestron have rolled out its successful Residential Studio software into the commercial market and will be demonstrating this at Bett this year. Crestron Studio® software enables easy deployment of custom design in one classroom or thousands of classrooms, with no control system needed and without having to write a single line of code. This dramatically streamlines the setup of classrooms and lecture theatres delivering system functionality with consistent, intuitive and branded touch screen experience.

“By using Crestron technology it is possible to transform the classroom or learning space into a dynamic environment that is interactive, collaborative and easy to use,” says Phil Waterhouse, Crestron Business Development Manager for Education. “As a world leading innovator, Crestron understands the needs for students, teachers and those working within the education environment to have access to reliable, simple to use and cost-effective systems that will provide a fun and collaborative learning tool”.
